Trip to Munich
On this page I want to give an impression of a trip to Munich, in the last week of October 1999.I went by train from Amsterdam (10 hours) to meet my dear friend Carolyn Owens and her sister Patricia.
They were invited as guests on a German talkshow named Arabella, for the satellite channel Pro 7.
Their total travel time from home in California came close to 22 hours.

On the first day, Wednesday, we mainly rested from travelling. The people from the show visited us a couple of times and wanted me to join Carolyn and Patricia on the show! |
| The second day, Thursday, was filled with preparing for the show.
In the afternoon we were taken to the studio, but we had to wait until
7pm for the taping. Meanwhile Patricia had taken some photo's in the green room. We only came back in the hotel at about 10:30pm, but at least we were happy then, because Carolyn's performance on the show was magnificent! She got many chances to tell about size acceptance and her positive view of herself. There were several guests, and every time she was asked for her opinion. It was so great! |

On Friday it rained, but we couldn't go out anyway because there was an extra filming session at the hotel, both for the Arabella show and for another one, called Galileo (an informative show). That was a bummer, but that day we still had time to make some silly photo's too.

The fourth day, Saturday, was finally a day to go out and
have some fun. We had a rental car from the show and went into the city to see some old buildings and could go shopping for souvenirs. We also visited the famous beer house Hofbr�uhaus, where Pat made a lot of friends. The photo's on her homepage show how much fun we had there. Finally on Sunday we went back to the airport. After the check in I
took the train back to Munich and from there went back to Amsterdam.
We had a lovely time together and I am looking forward to the next opportunity to meet Carolyn!
