Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures of the event because just a few days before the trip my camera fell and broke.
At the very last moment I managed to book a flight to San Diego, although the arrival was supposed to be at 8 PM on Friday night just at the beginning of the evening party.
I had even more bad luck, because at the stop-over of my flight at Washington Dulles Airport the weather was bad so the plane had to take a detour for new fuel and to wait at New York. All in all I could not continue to San Diego until the next morning! My arrival was finally at noon, and I could take the hotel shuttle to the Emerald hotel, together with the pilots.
It was a fun filled evening and I got to meet many online friends even within this one day. You can see a few pictures of the event on the homepages of Carolyn and Beatriz.
Late at night (about 2 AM) I took a taxi to my Motel-6 room in Chula Vista and went back to the Emerald the next morning to join my friends for the Goodbye Luncheon.
